Originally from Scotland, Paul Heron moved to London as a young boy. After leaving school he studied fashion design and technology followed buy fine art. That was during the day ... at night he was playing music videos in dance bars, dancing away at every great club in town ... buying all his favorite records and learning how to mix them on the decks in the Escape bar soho ... He has been DJing ever-since! the term vynal junkie was never more appropriate!
As far as his musical style is concerned he has never liked to put myself in any particular box. He likes to play house, tuff house, electro, tribal and progressive in more full on clubs, although he also loves more soulful, classic sounds, so to be honest his record collection spans quite a few genres. The most important thing for him is that his music has a dirty, sexy, but fun edge to it!
Paul Heron has played in some really great clubs in the past few years, and had some fantastic gigs abroad. In London he has been resident at SHADOW LOUNGE, ACTION, BEYOND, ORANGE, A.M, CRASH, DISCOTEC at The End,JUICY, MATINEE, DTPM (where he was made resident just before his 25th birthday) and LATER.
He has also guested at COCO LATTÉ, SALVATION, TRADE, WILD FRUIT, MONKEY and HEAVEN. His current main residencies are at MATINÉE, REVOLVER, LO-PROFILE, SHADOW LOUNGE, INDUSTRI & DELICE THROUGH OUT EUROPE.
Internationally he has played in New York (Avalon), San Fransisco (mezzanine), Los Angeles (here), Toronto (fly), Paris (Le Queen, red light, the mix, caberet), Rome, Milan(Billy), Amsterdam (CO2 / White Party), Barcelona(white party @space), Sydney (ARQ, Midnight Shift, Rising @ The Pheonix & Action), Perth (Connections), Melbourne (The Market), Auckland(hero), Sicily (Crash), Marseille, Sardinia (Crash), Turkey (Crash), Disneyland Paris, Slovenia, Frankfurt, Zurich, Edinburgh (taste/fever), Johannesburg (bitch) and Cape Town.
In clubs with DJs such as PETER RAUHOFFER, DAVID KNAPP, BOY GEORGE, DAVID GUETTA, TOM STEPHAN (ALSO GUEST MIX ON TOMS KISS RADIO SHOW), NICK BRIDGES (BODYROX) MICHALE KAISER, TONI BASS (sun rising up), IORDEE, JUANJO MARTIN, MANNY LEIMAN, TONY MORAN, SEAMUS HAJI, PAULETTE, WALLY LOPEZ, SAMMY JOE (scissor sisters tour dj) JOHN AQUAVIVA, PAUL HARRIS (dirty vegas), GRANT NELSON, GORDON EDGE, STEVE THOMAS, ALAN THOMSON, MALCOM DUFFY and at the pride radio one stage with JUDGE JULES, PETE TONG, and SONIQUE and at events with PERFORMERS/DIVAS such as MARHIA CAREY, GLORIA GAYNOR, BARBERA TUCKER, ROSSALA, CANDY J, LADY GAGA and YA KID K (TECHNOTRONIC).
The most memorable moments of his DJ career so far have been: having David Lachapelle (his hero) and The Pet Shop Boys in his DJ box ... Grace Jones dancing on his dance floor, then inviting me back for a drinks party at her hotel room... Playing for Elton John, Dolce & Gabbana, Patrick Cox and the Beckhams at David Furnish's birthday party.
He has played for a Dior party and mixed the music for a variety of fashion shows. All his international work so far has been fantastic as he loves travelling, bank holidays and New Years Eve always blow his mind and playing at his first DTPM birthday this year was amazing!
He has ventured into music production remixing the STONEBRIDGE record Take Me Away featuring THERESE on HEDKANDI RECORDS under the name RHYTHM DOCTORS with his production partner and friend DJ ALAN X.
