Guy Williams has been gracing the decks since 1993 when he began his dj journey in his hometown of Manchester, soon gaining spots at such infamous clubs such as Flesh at the Hacienda, Vague in Leeds and Trash in Sheffield. He then became resident at Manchesters Holy City Zoo in 1995 before a move to London in 1997 to become promotions manager at Jive records and continue his dj career.
In November 2002 Danny Tenaglia personally invited Guy to play at his Be Yourself night at Arc, NYC for the second time! Having had no guests for over three months, Guy was top of Tenaglia’s list to help him create what turned out to be an unforgettable night.
2003 saw Guy grace the honoured decks of Radio 1’s Essential mix to great response, this led to him playing on the Radio 1 stages at both London Pride in Hyde Park and for Ibiza’s legendary Radio 1 weekend. Also during the Radio 1 weekend Guy played/hosted a DTPM Recordings party at Base Bar as well as a storming set @ Bora Bora. Guy also completed a remix for Independiente alongside Derrick Carter and Peace Division.
2004 saw Guy play rocking gigs at The End with Tom Stephan for his Superchumbo Party, Ministry of Sound Saturdays for his Bi-monthly residency, Pin Up Club in Sheffield, and with gigs in Moscow, Miami, Belfast, Slovakia, Poland, Ibiza, Italy, France, Venezuela and New York it was a very busy year! As well as becoming one of the busiest DJ’s in dance music, Guy Williams profile is currently gathering some serious momentum.
2005 was also a busy year for Guy and saw him fly off to Copenhagen, Warsaw, Paris, Milan, Belfast, Ibiza plus all his usual gigs in England, including being asked to support Junior Vazquez at Heaven in London for Gatecrasher.
2006 Saw Guy play in Kiev, Milan, Copenhagen, Lousanne Bordeaux, Ibiza, Paris, Latvia, Lithuania and a 3 date tour of USA including San Francisco and New York Then in October He launched Black Rabbit alongside top dj/producer Justin Robertson and Dj Bones. A party for west London that was about to grow very quickly!
2007 Was an exciting year with the Black Rabbit parties taking London /Leeds (Back To Basics)Ibiza (Pacha) and Irealnd by storm not forgetting hosting a room at the TDK Festival in London Guys other gigs included the Hat Club Brighton, DTPM Belfast,a mini tour of Russia and Austria and the signing of Guy and James Fitch’s new production ‘Whats Up Earthlets?’ by Pop Pop recordings run by the Trophy Twins and Funkagenda2008 So Far has seen a further release on Pop Pop records, Guy Williams & James Fitch 'Get Together' supported by a range of tastemaker dj's and a slammin remix of the latest Roisin Murphy single 'You KNow Me Better' for EMI Gigswise has seen Guy in Milan/Paris/Switzerland/Uk and Black Rabbit has taken up a new residency at East London's newest venue East Village and with four parties at Eden Ibiza and Guy's debut at We Love- Sundays at Space.
2008 is set to be an exciting oneGuys radio show, every Friday 4-6pm drivetime on House FM has included guests such as Tom Nevill, Lottie, Justin Robertson, Dean Ramirez, Paul Harris Mark Knight and many more new productions.
Guy has been in the studio with James Fitch dj/producer from Brighton and their first colloboration was signed to the excellent Pop Pop record label and released in Oct 2007 with remixes by Funkagenda, Trophy Twins, Master Dam and more!! They have been back in the studio and their latest bomb ‘Together’ was signed to Pop Pop recordings for an early 2008 release. He remixed Roisin Murphy single ‘You Know Me Better’ for EMI music released in March 2008.
Guy also released the first Black Rabbit track, on Tom Neville's excellent Love Minus Zero Label and has also collaborated with Cagedbaby and Jon Carter. Guy Williams & WaWa ‘The Energy’ was released on Houseworks records in March 2007. Guys Spin Doctor EP released on Wax Habit records October 2006 on vinyl saw a digital release across all the major download sites.
Guy was at the helm of the DTPM Recordings label for over 3 years. The last release was the floor favourite Soul Flava ‘We Got Love’ which was licensed to 4 compilation albums. DTPM Recordings received a nomination for Breakthrough Label at the 2005 House Music Awards.
